Students Enigma in Academia

 

The mind of students are the product of teachers’ knowledge, behavior and beliefs in academia. They are considered as the mirror of society. The students see the mirror and reflects their own thought. They analyze the society and project their beliefs. 

A students can’t challenge their teacher arguments easily because of several reasons. First, on account of ignorance. They have no real knowledge of the world, society, people and their problems. Second, due to lack of courage to speak in front of teachers. They lack confidence and are shy. Third, they perceive their argument wrong before they present them which may be true and more valuable. Fourth, the fear of insult from teachers in the classroom is rooted in the minds of the students. Fifth, the projected negative views of classmates associated with shame. 

Above are a number of real impediments in empowerment of students’ insights. Students should acquire appropriate knowledge. They must challenge the doctrines of their teachers to create a more competitive and learning environment. 

However, the teachers must encourage the students to ask questions which will be helpful in building confidence of the students. They should gave some space to students to appreciate their wrong answers for their open and growth mindset.

 It is the responsibility of teachers to entertain and accept the flaws of students.

The Lawn VS The Library

Reading is a conversation, but conversation is not a reading.

I see most of the students gossip in the lawn of the department rather than reading in the library. The lawn is full of students while the library is full of books. There is an ample gap and loss of connection between the students and the books which I described as’ Reading cavity’. The students in the lawn enjoy the company of their fellows but forget the company of books in the library which is a testament to knowledge and wisdom.

Who is responsible for it? Difficult to probe. Is it the fault of reading itself? Of course, not. Beacause reading enhances the ability to think, to judge, and to intreprete. It increases the critical ability of human mind to evaluate an idea constructively. It is essential for the growth of human essence. It awards a man with cognitive flexibility which is the true power in the jumbled era. It gives way to criticism, and criticism in turn opens the path to progress and prosperity of society. If reading has so much positive impact then what’s the real impediment?

The real impediment in the way of reading is cheap entertainment. The lawn of the department becomes a centre of meaningless jokes which attracts students even from their respective classes _ so a way to library is a hectic deal. Cheap entertainment creates a buzz environment where purpose of students become blur. So the beauty of lawn turns into chaos of time as well as healthy mind.

The fault also lies in students. They are unaware of the importance of reading books, magazines, newspapers etc. They are unmindful of thier true vision and goal. They come and leave the department without purpose. It shows that there is no ambition nurturing in the heart of students which is a matter of tragedy for the entire nation.

Moreover, there is a lack of self awareness among students who move aimlessly in a departmenal lawn. Once they move on the path of self-actualization then the track from the lawn to the library will be amiable. They will be able to love books. They will read newspapers. They will swallow journals. They will digest magazines and so on. As a result, the culture of reading will definitely be evolved in a department which in turn will create a cognitive society.

Besides that, the fear of isolation draws students from the library to the lawn. The lawn is students hub than library. Sometimes even an avid reader prefers lawn with friends due to alienation. Readers should push this fear away and believe in their own potential. They will strive to create such environment which compels students to the library sorrounded by books.

The students should create a balance between the lawn and the library. They should navigate different ways of reading materials. They must try to adapt reading culture within the department. They should minimize the conversation time in the lawn and should spend their actual time in the library which is the supportive environment for reading. Rene Descartes says that “the reading of all good books is like conversation with the finest men of past centuries.”

Books, Music, Friends and Travelling

 

Find the joy of life in the struggle of your life.

I am obsessed with learning, understanding and improving. Learning a skill; understanding a life; and improving myself is the doctrine of my journey. Are you like me? Do you want to learn, understand and improve yourself? Here are the four pillars on which you can stand your life.

Books:

Central Library (UOP)

Books are the guiding principle. They act like the inspiring teachers in your life. They imprint novel ideas in your mind. They broaden your vision of life. Reading books are like installing a new learning software. You will not only learn but also amused at same time. The pleasure of reading will inspire you more to read. So, immerse yourself in the river of reading. Reading books is a source of learning as well as of recreation. Try to read different types of books _ philosophy, psychology, science, history, literature. I like one of the famous quotes of Francis Bacon who says, “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and few to be chewed and digested.” So following the advice of Bacon, read accordingly.

Music:

Music is the rhythmic language of universe. It is a collective consciousness and a social communication system which helps in a community building. Nietzsche called music the “primordial unity of consciousness.” He further says, “Without music, life would be a mistake. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn’t hear the music.” According to the research, music also helps in solving a problem as it increases the mental ability of human beings. However, people only listen to music for enjoyment and pastime.

Is music grab you? If not, think twice.

Friends:

Friends are the soul of life. They are the epitome of beauty and joy. The moments they share with you are the assets of your life. The informal speeches, franks, and jokes with them are the real charm which keep you alive in the death drive. A group of friends help you in enhancing the social skill of your life.

In one of my short stories, titled, “Friendship is a pretty ghost,” I have written a line that ‘A friend is a factor of multiplication in euphoria.’ However, ‘A friend jerks the emotional satisfaction of man.’ So, you should be aware of both sides of the coin. I also remember one of the dialogues of Indian movies, “Barhe Miya Chote Miya (Big brother little brother),” which says that ‘A new enemy is oft an old friend.’

Travelling:

Gabin Jaba, Swat (Pakistan)

Travelling is another pillar of learning which open you up to new places, experiences and adventures. The sweet and harsh memories of travelling last long with you. It gives you a new reason to live. Travelling with your family, friends and loved ones is one of the founding principles of joy, beauty, and charm.

To travel a new place is like to read a new book. Both teach you in one or another way. Book reading also adds up to your imagination. You can read different stories in the form of books. You can learn about various countries and their cultures, languages, customs, habits, norms and values. Both provide pleasure and experiences. Both are the ultimate guides of learning. Therefore, I usually says, “travel but if can’t afford, read a book to travel.”

The voice of revolutionary

 

زمونګ د قام بدبختي دا ده چې دلته آواز مړ شې نو اوازونه راپورته شې

(It is unfortunate for our nation where voice emerge only when voices are killed)

Yet more to come. Am I talking about sigh of relief? The answer is definitely no. Ponder for a while and look at the situation. It exacerbates day by day. It deepens the chasm. It bites the skin, punches the body, rotates the mind and absorbs the voice. Who’s voice is this? ... The voice of revolutionary.

When injustice prevails in a society then revolution is not just a voice but a strategy, a force and a dogma. When no one is listening to the voice of justice then revolution is a necessity. When justice becomes injustice and injustice becomes justice then revolution is the ultimate trajectory.

دا وخت په يو بل ده تورو لګولو نه بلکه ده اکائ دي

(It is the time of unity; not of blaming one another.)

What is going on with Pashtun is horrendous. Pashtun belt screams in a row. Politicians raise their voices. Poets condemn in their poetry. Writers criticize in their writing, and masses return the price with their blood, but all in vain. Still the blood is bleeding, and no one is enough stable to curb the dilemma.

More casualties to come. More funerals to come. More orphans to come. More widows to come. All this occur because of “legal crime”. The drama will continue If resistance stops and the voice of revolutionary becomes completely dumb.

Reading dilemma of Gen-Z

Of all generations, the generation of 21st Century reads more.

We are living in a digital age. Our lives is wrapped up by digital world rather than physical one. We are overly enshrined in using social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X etc. According to Global Research Survey, an individual spends about 6 hours and 35 minutes by using mobile on average. The questions lie, for the sake of what? Where are we heading? Where is our ultimate purpose?

Everyone is a reader in today’s world. Some read posts, few read newspapers while other read books. All of them are right. All of them learn something in one way or other. But my concern is effective learning, effective reading and effective approach.

No doubt, people read more in 21st century in the form of socials. Everyone reads either online or offline. They read posts and even books just like watching reels on socials without understanding. They watch reels one after another and derive instant pleasure. They get lost in it and consume their precious time for none. The terrible thing is that they even don’t realise the countdown of beautiful gift. Similarly, they read posts ahead and forget the last one because of mindless scrolling.

In today’s world, everyone has mobile phones in their pockets. Wherever they go; they carry it. Everytime and now, they pick it up and diving into the world of nonsense. Instead of going into commendable website for reading articles or books on education, business, technology, industry, etc, they start reading posts like watching reels one after another to pass time.

This is the time to change our approach. This is the time to shift our view. This is the time to evaluate our strategy. This is the time to nurture ourselves. This is the time to analyse the situation. This is the time to make or destroy Yourself.

Everyone is responsible for their own time. No one will help you until you choose to help yourself. This is your responsibility to figure it out for yourself. How much time are you wasting on socials?

In order to solve the problem, you must adopt the following strategy.

1. Calm your mind and don’t rush into things.

2. Think for yourself.

3. Analyse the situation.

4. Spot the problem.

5. Try to find out different solutions.

6. Manage your time.

7. Set clear goals.

8. Commit to the goals until you achieve the desired result.

Spiritual pauperism

Humanity, love and sympathy are the watchwords of human literature.

      The beauty of sense and essence is rambling with despise. The nub of the matter is “heart and mind”. The soul perishes day by day, minute by minute, moment by moment; but, no one listens the gruff sound of crushing. Back to the chaos like charm to harm, angel to devil, and man to pig.

      “Humanity has lost its faith,” once utter the dumb society. The brutality rules over humanity. Why the kind soul turn into blind who doesn’t feel the pang? The society wants to thumb down the roots of pain, but still buttress it. Of course! It seems like a paradox. But the meticulous answer is that “human is responsible for human loss.” Let the poor to be poor, depress to be depress, and crazy to be crazy.

       Where the love wonders in the world? Why it rejects to be a part of our heart? Love can changes us totally _ it can changes the dark hearts to glow and satan to bow. We challenge one another in the path of success instead of holding hands towards this bright destination. Jealousy is the master of our heart, and that’s why we have no space for keeping love to dance.

         Once, a Sympathy was to be deemed, “the supremo of human soul”. But now the chapter of kindness close. Here is no word of sympathy to be found. The human soul loss the spirit of sympathy. We have hearts and are expected to be sympathetic, but unfortunately, all in vain.

                                                                             Brutality confronts humanity;                                         Abhor confronts love;                                       Barbarity confronts sympathy.

       Eye becomes suspicious. Ear captures lies. Hands holds robbery. Last but not the least, tongue twists with grudge. In short, these depicts the story of bleak world.

      We must try to eschew ourselves from these jumbles because they distract our mind as well as diminish the glow of our heart. Moving on the path of love and sympathy; human will be able to find humanity.
